Your website is written in one main language. You can add more, so guests from abroad read your pages in their own language. Each language gets its own address (for example /fr/ for French), so search engines show the French pages to people searching in French.
TIOO's own words (menu, buttons, the booking form) are already translated. This is about your words: page texts, room descriptions, packages, the area guide and blog posts.
Add a language
- Open Website → Languages.
- Pick the language under Add a language and press Add.
- TIOO translates your words in the background. It takes a minute or two; the bar fills as it goes.
Your business name and room names are never translated.
Note: How many languages you can add depends on your plan. Each plan also has a monthly amount of automatic translation; the page shows how much is used.
Check and change the words
- Press Check the words next to the language.
- Your main words are on the left, the translation on the right. Change any translation and press Save.
- Use the filters to see only words that are Not translated, Automatic, Edited by you, or Check — main text changed.
Words you change are kept: the automatic translation never replaces them. If you later change the main text, the old translation is shown under Check — main text changed so you can update it. Use automatic goes back to TIOO's translation.
Careful: Translated legal pages (terms, cancellation) carry a line saying the main-language version applies. Have important legal texts checked by someone who knows the language.
Publish
Press Publish when you are happy. Visitors then see a language picker in the menu and the footer. Hide from visitors takes it off again without losing anything. Preview shows the language before it is published.
In the page editor, the live preview has a language list, so you can see a page in another language while you edit.
Blog posts
Each post has a tick box Translate this post into the website's other languages. Untick it to keep a post in the main language only.
On the phone app
The app's Website screen lists your languages with a switch to publish or hide each one, and lets you add a language. Checking the words is done on the web, on a bigger screen.
