Bookings from booking sites such as Booking.com and Airbnb reach TIOO through each room's calendar link (also called an iCal link). Open Calendar Sync. Every room has a card, and every calendar on it shows a state, a line saying what it means, and when it was last checked. Start with that state.

Check 1: What does the calendar say?

  • Working — the link is fine. Go to Check 4.
  • Checking… — the first check hasn't finished yet. Refresh the page in a minute.
  • Paused — someone paused it, so nothing comes in. Press Resume.
  • Booking.com not answering (or Airbnb, or another site) — the booking site isn't replying. This is usually short. TIOO keeps trying by itself and never stops the calendar for this. Nothing to do.
  • Problem — the last checks failed. The line under the state says why. Go to Check 2.
  • Stopped — TIOO stopped checking after 10 failed checks in a row. Go to Check 2, then press Try again.

Note: After 5 failed checks in a row, the bell warns you, so you can fix the link before it stops.

Most problems are a wrong or old link.

  1. Press History on the calendar to see what happened on each check.
  2. Read the line under the state. For example: - "The calendar link doesn't work any more" — the booking site changed it. - "The link doesn't return a calendar" — you pasted a page address, often a page that asks you to log in, instead of the calendar link. - "refused to share this calendar" — it isn't the export calendar link for that listing.
  3. Copy a fresh calendar link from the booking site, for that exact room or listing.
  4. Press Edit on the calendar in TIOO.
  5. Paste the new link in Calendar Feed URL.
  6. Press Save and check now. This also restarts a stopped calendar.

Check 3: Did you just press "Check now"?

Check now checks one calendar straight away. You can press it once a minute for each calendar; pressed again sooner, TIOO says "Already checking this calendar — give it a minute." It doesn't show for a paused calendar: resume it first.

Check 4: Has it been long enough?

The calendar is working but the new booking isn't there yet.

  • TIOO checks calendars by itself. The top of Calendar Sync says how often. On the Free plan, calendars are checked every 15 minutes.
  • With many calendars, they take turns, so one may wait an extra round.
  • The booking site also needs time to put a new booking in its calendar link. That part is on their side.

To see it sooner, press Check now.

Check 5: Is the booking one TIOO skips?

  • Stays that are already over are not brought in.
  • A stay with no nights, or longer than a year, is skipped. So is a "closed" block longer than 14 nights. TIOO lists each one it skips in its booking alerts email.
  • Archived rooms aren't checked.

Check 6: Is your TIOO account active?

Calendars aren't checked while your TIOO plan is paused or your account is suspended. Look at Billing.

Still stuck?

The booking shows on the booking site but nowhere in TIOO, and the calendar says Working? Use Need a hand connecting your booking sites? Ask us to set it up at the bottom of Calendar Sync.

Note: A calendar link only carries dates and a name. The guest's email and phone come from the booking emails. See A booking has no email or phone.
