Add cleaners and give them the phone app

A cleaner in TIOO is someone you give cleaning jobs to. They don't use the dashboard: they get their own simple cleaner app on their phone, showing only their rooms.

Cleaning is on the Starter plan and up. Owners, admins and managers can add cleaners; only owners and admins can give them sign-in access.

Cleaner or team member?

• Cleaners are added on Cleaning → Cleaners. They don't use any of your team seats — they have their own limit (Starter 2, Growth 5, Pro 20, Enterprise as many as you need). The Cleaners page shows how many you have used.
• Team members (receptionists, managers, admins) are invited on Team and use the dashboard. See Invite your team and choose roles.

The same email can't be both: an email already used by someone on your team can't be used for a cleaner.

Add a cleaner

1. Open Cleaning in the menu, then click Cleaners — or go to Cleaners.
2. Under Add a cleaner, type their Name.
3. Add a Mobile number (for texts) if you want TIOO to text them about their jobs.
4. Add their Email if they will use the cleaner app.
5. Optionally fill in Pay per job (used on Pay cleaners) and Notes (only you see these).
6. Tick the rooms they clean. None ticked means all rooms. This decides what they can pick up in the app and who gets rooms when jobs are given out automatically.
7. Click Add cleaner.

You can now give them rooms on the cleaning board.

Give them the cleaner app

Owner or admin only.

1. On the cleaner's card, next to Cleaner app:, check the email.
2. Click Send invite.

They get an email with a link to choose a password. Until they do, the card says Invited and you can click Send again. Once they've set it, the card says Can sign in. If they already have a TIOO sign-in (for example they clean for another business), they use their existing password.

They sign in on your business's own sign-in page, and TIOO takes them straight to the cleaner app. To stop them signing in, click Turn off and confirm.

What cleaners see — and never see

In the cleaner app a cleaner sees:

• the rooms given to them today and coming up, and unclaimed rooms they're allowed to pick up;
• the room, door number, where it is and how to get in (key safe, lock box or reception instructions you set on the room);
• your instructions, the checklist, and before/after photos;
• how many nights the guest stayed, and whether a new guest arrives today.

They never see guest names or contact details, bookings, prices, your settings or any other dashboard page. If a cleaner opens a dashboard address, TIOO sends them back to the cleaner app.

Change or remove a cleaner

Click Edit on their card to change details, rooms, or Send this cleaner texts about their jobs, then Save. Remove cleaner keeps their past jobs; jobs not started yet become unassigned. Removed cleaners are listed under Removed cleaners with Bring back.
