TIOO works with smart locks through the TTLock app. Once your TTLock account is connected, TIOO makes a door code for each guest and can open doors from the dashboard and from the guest's phone.
Smart locks are on the Starter plan and up. Owner or admin only.
What you need first
- A lock that works with TTLock. Any lock you can add in the TTLock app works. The box or listing usually says "TTLock".
- The TTLock app on your phone (iPhone or Android), with an account and every lock added to it. You add a lock over Bluetooth, standing next to it.
- A TTLock Wi-Fi gateway (G2 or G3) within Bluetooth range of the locks, also added in the app. Without a gateway TIOO can't send door codes to the lock or open it remotely.
Connect
- Open Smart Locks in the menu, then Settings. You can also go straight to Smart lock settings.
- Under Your lock account, click Connect on the TTLock card.
- Leave TTLock app sign-in picked.
- Type your TTLock username or email and TTLock password — the same ones you use in the TTLock app.
- Click Connect TTLock.
You see "TTLock account connected." and the card says Connected. TIOO doesn't keep your password, only the scrambled form TTLock asks for.
Note: My own TTLock app keys is only for businesses with their own TTLock developer account. Most businesses use the app sign-in.
Next, tell TIOO which lock opens which room: see Give each room its lock, and set the front door.
If the sign-in fails
TIOO connects to TTLock's Europe server, so your TTLock account needs to be on that server. If the same details work in the TTLock app but not here, your account may be on another region's server. Contact us through Setup help and tell us the country you chose when you created the TTLock account.
"Needs signing in again"
If TTLock stops accepting the connection (for example after you change your TTLock password), the card and the Smart Locks page show Needs signing in again. New door codes can't be made and remote unlock stops until you sign in, but codes already on the locks keep working. Open the TTLock card, type your details and click Sign in again.
Disconnect
On the TTLock page, click Disconnect TTLock and confirm. No new door codes are made and remote unlock stops. Codes already on the locks keep working until they end. Your rooms keep their locks, so if you sign in again later everything carries on.
What TIOO does with the connection
By connecting, you let TIOO create and remove guest codes, read lock activity (door openings show on the Smart Locks page) and open doors on your behalf. Locks themselves are still added, removed and reset in the TTLock app.
